This house was built as Mr.Kimura's Villa 50years ago. At that time , there was only a mountain next to this house. Mr.Nakase, a famous gardener, created this beautiful Japanese garden with using side of this mountain. This house is really old and sometimes may be inconvenience for you who are used to urban life. But we can promise you will definitely enjoy our house because now it's really difficult to experience these kind of Japanese house, even for us, Japanese who have been lived in Japan.

Tucked away in the Kamakura–Ofuna area, this historic residence once belonged to the Amakasu family, former village leaders of old Ofuna. Passing through the Nagaya-mon gate built in 1708, you are welcomed by a private garden of over 3,000㎡ and a main house that has stood for more than three centuries. The estate offers a rare sense of stillness—filled with birdsong, gentle breezes, and the quiet passage of time. Here, you are invited to slow down and relax, embracing a moment of true calm.

禅宗寺院が数多くあり緑深き北鎌倉。山へと続く小径と階段をのぼった山ぎわにこちらの【スミカ探求舎】はあります。 大きな窓の外は大イチョウとモミジ。春は新緑、夏はたっぷりとした葉を茂らせ、秋には黄葉と紅葉、冬は葉を落とした枝の向こうに大船観音が見えます。 階段でしかアクセスできないので駐車場はありません。その代わり車の音は無く、聞こえるのは小鳥のさえずりや、りすが屋根を駆け回る音、風が葉を揺らす音だけです。 庭に出て季節の花を切り部屋の中に活ける。珈琲豆をミルでひき自分で珈琲を淹れる。ここには過度なサービスはありませんが、ご自分が心地良いように、五感を開放してお過ごしください。
