The Carriage is set on tracks where the original line ran through Ullock on the fringe of the Lake District National Park, with the river Marron running below. The Sea Cubby, Private Holiday Lodge, Portling.

The Sea Cubby is a unique wee holiday lodge overlooking the Solway Firth. It is perched just above the waves with the most beautiful views across Portling Bay to the white sands of Merse Head nature reserve. The Lodge is not in a holiday park it stands alone with it's own private driveway, parking and garden. It’s so quiet, a retreat to escape and relax, by sitting watching and listening to the waves. The Lodge has a large glass roofed deck. Well behaved dogs are considered, please ask first.

Wild Oak Woods Eco-campsite offers a truly back to nature experience and is a great place for wildlife watching The campsite sits in a hidden valley surrounded by hills and trees, half a mile from Sandyhills bay beach. A wood burner makes the hut snug and warm even in sub zero temperatures and you will have use of the facilities block showers and kitchen by booking a time slot.
