Swinburne Castle is perfectly situated within its own beautiful parkland and gardens. Traditionally decorated, parts of the house have tremendous history dating back to the 12th century. The east wing is extremely comfortable and private, and don't be perturbed by the stone steps leading down to the vaulted cellar. A delicious continental breakfast will be provided in your rooms. There is ample parking and a tennis court you are welcome to use. lovely footpaths from the house for keen walkers.

The coast is about 30 minutes away, plenty of National trust buildings and interesting gardens within an hour including Alnwick Castle & gardens (Harry Potter/Downton Abbey film location), Cragside, Wallington etc Well and comfortably furnished. Windy Hall is somewhere very special. High in the Pennines it offers one of the most magnificent views in England. You may want to stay and enjoy the peace & quiet, but we are ideally placed for trips west to the Lake District, east to the magnificent cathedral city of Durham, and north to Hadrian's Wall. It's unusual in that you have to walk the last 240 metres to the house, though we will bring up your luggage in our 4WD. But don't let this put you off; please just read our reviews!

Airbnb property is the Annex to our main home. Private access up wide steps to the side of the property to the annex. A complete flat with one bedroom, lounge with eating area. Kitchen includes a comprising of full cooker, fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster, and microwave. Bedroom with 1 double bed. Shower room. Great location being situated on the Hadrian’s wall for long walks and beautiful views. Very peaceful and is great for a relaxing get away.

Built in 1780, this thick -walled cosy cottage has historic charm with modern comforts. South facing with stone walled garden, from which you can survey a spectacular view 20 miles deep and 35 miles wide over the Tyne valley. The cottage is at 700 feet above sea level and you feel you are on the roof of England. It is situated in a quiet rural location 2 miles from both Hexham and Corbridge and half an hour from Newcastle.
