You can hear the birds chirping all day long and fall asleep to the sounds of the jungle. Try to spot the owls & bushbabys wich are often sitting in the jacaranda trees around you.

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. Built in the late 1950's the renovated Lowveld farmhouse is the place to take it easy. The wide stoep looks into a lush, mostly indigenous subtropical garden. The nearby irrigation canal provides a peaceful backdrop of sound as the water gurgles past. Everything on the property, from the food we grow to how we live, work and generate electricity is based on being environmentally sustainable. We are completely off-grid, no power or water cuts!

Spitskop Plaashuis With magnificent views over the valley towards the town of Lydenburg, Spitskop is ideal for guests needing to break away from the hustle of city life. This beautiful upmarket, semi double storey home offers a working farm experience with goats, sheep, donkeys and chickens roaming around. Although there is no fishing at Spitskop, this venue is perfect for hiking, cycling, reading, cooking and of course relaxing! Great fun to be had in the farm dam during those hot summers.

Hackle Lodge

Two hours from Johannesburg, and one and a half hours from Pretoria, High in the Mpumalanga Mountains. Hackle is quietly situated on a mountain estate that is home to many wild birds and animals. It boasts 4 trout fishing dams. There's a SPA at the hotel. Putt Putt, swimming pool, tennis court, and many more fun things to do. We have about 12 Kms of farm roads before you enter through the big Kloppenheim Hotel estate, which is where we are situated. We have an inverter for load shedding.

Holingsberg River Fly Fishing and Horse trails

Holingsberg River Cottage is an exclusive Self Catering River Fly Fishing and Horse Trail destination for the serious Fly Fisher and Trail rider. The chalet is upmarket and private, and situated on a working farm yard. The kids are welcome to interact and learn about the farm animals. The fly fisher has 1.5km of river front. Enjoy the splendid view from the patio while preparing dinner, relaxing around a fire, and discuss the catch or trail ride of the day. The cottage has solar back-up.

Mount High Luxury Country Estate offers a fantastic getaway for families or groups, with a fabulous venue for weddings, parties, corporate events, and celebrations. En route to the Kruger National Park, it is idyllically located near Lydenburg on the Panorama Route. Shooters Hill is situated in the well renowned Walkersons Private Estate. Walkersons has some of the best trout waters in the Mpumalanga Highlands and aside from fishing, offers mountain biking, hiking, and horse riding, spa treatments, bar and restaurant. The house is well appointed and fully serviced. Three of the 4 bedrooms have fireplaces. We recently installed Solar and batteries to run the essential loads in the house. The house also has a gas stovetop.

Royal Wulff is a cosy two-sleeper cottage, identical to our Marabou cottage, perfect for a fisherman’s adventure or a romantic getaway in the bush. Located near the two tranquil dams, the cottage boasts a studio layout that ensures intimacy and comfort. Royal Wulff’s king bed and tidy sitting area are warmed each evening by an indoor fireplace, while the patio opens right onto the African bush and the dam’s distinct ecosystem. This cottage is pet friendly.
