Our country was immersed in a very difficult internal war. This museum vindicates the true heroes of that struggle and tells the whole story. It also has rooms that talk about vulnerable populations. It is a very sensitive museum, which you must visit.

Very interesting and politically controversial museum that does quite a good job at retelling some of the stories from Peru's internal armed conflict. They also often have free documentary screenings or panel discussions (Spanish only) in the evenings. The easiest way to get here is to walk along Malecon de la Marina, then continue north on Avenida del Ejercito for one block until you can turn left and follow the steps down to the LUM entrance.

This is an important museum documenting the violence committed by both the Mao-inspired Shining Path and the Peruvian national security forces during the 1980s and 1990s.
