Take a day walking Beinn Mhòr, Hecla & Corradail. A long, hard hill walk (12miles / 8 - 10 hours). Good, waterproof boots essential. Guidance & map on walkhighlands.co.uk

The highest mountain in South Uist, definitely worth the 4-6 hour (round trip) to the top. Some spectacular views on a clear day.

Some brilliant hill walks on these mountains of the middle district of South Uist. Take a map and compass. The hills are not high, but the terrain can be a challenge.
