Epic hiking with a beautiful lake view. Great swimming in the summer months.

A charming easy/moderate hike found north of Nederland, this is the perfect hike for families. Stop and rest, play, or picnic at any of the several crystal clear lakes along the trail, or continue higher along a ridge providing spectacular views into the Arapahoe Glacier valley, the off-limits bank of the City of Boulder's water supply. The road to Rainbow Lakes trailhead is a bit bumpy but accessible in any 2WD. Open only during summer months. I recommend checking Alltrails.com or Hikingproject.com to familiarize yourself with current trail difficulty and conditions.
