Pactola Lake is the largest reservoir in the Black Hills. It was created by the construction of Pactola Dam. It is rumored to have several towns at the bottom of the lake that were subsequently abandoned in 1952. Today it offers incredible views, fishing, and boating. Perfect destination for a weekend or day trip.

Beautiful mountain reservoir, perhaps the most picturesque place in the Black Hills. Pull over and take a few pictures, explore some walking trails, or rent a pontoon for a couple hours.

Whether summer or winter, this majestic lake is the source of life, water for people and animals in the Black Hills. Swimming from it's beaches or boating from it's marina to X-C skiing or ice fishing it is a pristine experience!
