Our kid just loves going there, as well as to the zoo right next to it. Easy to reach with the M41, changing into the U1 at "Hallesches Tor".

Directions: Take the U2 from Nollendorfplatz in direction Ruhleben (or U1 in direction Uhlandstraße), get out at Wittenbergplatz. It's just one stop.
