Famous for its health-conscious residents, Bondi is a great spot for soft-sand running and a session at the outdoor gym on the beach’s northern end. In 20 minutes, do as many rounds as possible of five pull-ups, 10 push-ups, and 15 air squats. Then run to the south end and do 10 laps at the Bondi Icebergs saltwater pool. Icebergs has a sauna—included in the price of a pool pass—to relieve tired muscles, as well as a massage therapist who sometimes does sessions outside so you can hear the waves crashing while you get a rubdown.

You can learn to surf year-round at one of the accredited surf schools. Surfboard hire is also available. Between May and November, you can easily spot whales during their annual migration from one of the spectacular vantage points along the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk, a 6km track which links four beautiful beaches. In late spring, the cliffs of the coastal walk are transformed by Sculpture by the Sea, the world’s largest annual free-to-the-public outdoor sculpture exhibition.

A great beach just 7km to the largest city in Australia! Amazing food options, some decent bars and loads of small shops to browse through. Yoga, Pilates and gyms abound.
