Long white-sand beach. The roar and rumble of the ocean. Salt spray. Vast sky. I mean, yes, its the Atlantic ocean so it is challengingly cold, but... it is still one hell of a relaxing and beautiful beach.

Beautiful turquoise water but can often be the coldest water around.

Point of Interest
“York Redoubt is one of the coolest places in the city. It's history and beauty are fascinating! Definitely worth stopping and wandering around. Underground tunnels, cannons and bunkers and an amazing view of the mouth of Halifax harbour. Built in 1793. This is a must see!”

Natural Feature
“Take a boat ride out from Eastern Passage and walk around this former first line of defense in the middle of the harbour. The cannons are still there, as well as some old houses and bunkers from the fort.”
