A visit to Potawatomi Zoo is a fine way to spend an afternoon. Located in nearby South Bend, IN. It is a nice small zoo with train ride, snack bar, playground, and picnic area.

South Bend has a great zoo. Admission is about $10 for adults and a little less for kids.

Very close by. There's also 2 large playgrounds and areas for grilling in parks just south of the entrance.
