Located in the Pisgah National Forest, Lake Powhatan Campground is a wooded site on the banks of Lake Powhatan with a swimming lake and beach. No boats are allowed on the lake. The campground borders the 6,000 acre Bent Creek Experimental Forest, a haven for bicyclists. Gate opens at 7 am and closes at 10 pm You can camp and sightseeing at this place. It takes around 26 minutes ( 9.6 miles)

A few campsites have Full-Hookups. Access to Bent Creek trail system with many mountain bike trails. Close to the Arboretum and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The Bent Creek / Lake Powhatan Recreational area contains numerous trails suitable for hiking and mountain biking, a small lake, numerous creeks.
