A wonderful way to spend an hour or two in a great local attraction. The park includes zoo with rescued animals, good place to see bald eagles up close!

Forest Park in Springfield, Massachusetts, is one of the largest urban, municipal parks in the United States, covering 735 acres (297 ha) of land overlooking the Connecticut River. Designed by the renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, Forest Park features a zoo, aquatic gardens, and outdoor amphitheater, in addition to typical Olmsted design elements like winding wooded trails, and surprising, expansive views. During the holiday months Forest Park hosts a popular high-tech lighting display, known as Bright Nights.

There is so much to do here besides hike the wooded trails and see the wildlife and usually babies of all kinds. Sports fields and courts, baseball, basketball, volley ball. Fishing, picnics, biking, playgrounds. So much for the whole family. So beautiful with all the gardens and nature.
