9 miles from the entrance at Sylvan Lake and trailhead #9 to Black Elk Peak - highest point east of the Rockies
Buffalo and burros dot Custer State Park along with deer, wild turkeys. Very nice drive and views are outstanding!
Take a drive through Custer State Park and see all of the Black Hill's wildlife.
This drive never disappoints. You should totally do it. But here's the pro tip...Donkeys were used to carry supplies to build the Harney Peak fire tower. Just be careful, once they see you've got food they'll start shoving their noses thru your windows!
