Closest train station (walking distance). From there you can take the NJ Transit train to NYC Penn Station in Mid town.

Easiest train to get to NYC. Fare is $5 but you have a seat and it takes only 15 minutes to get into NYC Penn Station. Be sure to buy your ticket before your board the train.
