A lovely late afternoon activity. In this little village you can watch the Herons come home to roost every single day of the year. From about 5 pm they fly across the sky from the West and settle in the trees. There are literally thousands of them and as legend has it, they are meant to be the reincarnation of the spirits of the dead people who died in a massacre during the anti-communist era in Indonesia. They did not come here prior to th 1960's. After the massacre, they start to show up. If you love nature and birds it is quite a phenomenia to witness so many wild birds coming into this small village
