This monument is a perennial delight to visit and is named after a lost ship, "The California," which triggered the need for a lighthouse near the island's most northern point. Beautiful sand dunes, a fresh coco stand, expansive vistas, and of course the California Lighthouse itself all provide for memorable experiences and images. A 5 minute drive, or if your an ambitious hiker, it's a great workout walking up the long, steep hill to the infamous California Lighthouse. Be sure to bring your camera for stunning views at the top. There's also the Faro Blanco restaurant for which advance reservations are highly recommended. Bring water if walking.
