This Inn serves great food and I usually reach it by bus. If you have access by car then it's an easy drive. The Queen has even eaten at this place(!) and it's pretty to wander around the area and visit the beautiful free Dr Neil's Garden at the same time.

Sheep Heid Inn ~ Duddingston Village, Edinburgh. Duddingston is home to Scotland's oldest pub, the Sheep Heid which lies at the foot of Arthur's Seat and dates back to the 12th century.
