This is a short drive away but a wonderful park to walk around. Walk across the foot bridge under the large overpass and do the loop around belle isle to get close to the rapids and a little nature immersion right by the city.

Walk the suspended bridge over to Belle's Isle and get a great view of the water. Great walking trails and swimming areas if you are so inclined.

Historic Island with fantastic views of the city. It’s a must visit for anyone who enjoys biking, climbing, hiking, history, and spectacular views of the city.

Belle Isle is a historic area of Richmond with lots of history regarding the Civil War. With the new walking bridge, it's absolutely a must to visit, hike around and turn around and see the entire skyline of downtown Richmond and including Tredegar Ironworks and the Hollywood Cemetery. Beautiful area with good grounds maintenance and great informational signs, both about the history of the area and about the botany. A great way to get out of the city while still in the city.
