A large, serene compound with a uniquely built home. Having breakfast or dinner at the outside veranda is a relaxing experience, right at your doorstep. The unique architecture connects the living room, dinning and kitchen as if it is in one space. With three bedrooms, this is an ideal place for a family or a couple of friends. The place is fully equipped, ideal for both long and short stays. Mind that Kampala experiences power black-outs every now and then and currently we don't have back-up.

Cottage at the Edge of the World

Our cottage on the edge of the world was built by hand with regional materials. In a village near the town of Fort Portal (30 min), you will find peace, hospitality and a sense of community. A perfect space for volunteers and vacationers who want to support a grassroots organization (even for a longer period of time). The cottage is part of the community organization Kuza Omuto and a local school. So you will experience the real village life of West Uganda .

The Shine Guesthouse - Jinja, On Nile River

The Shine house is the perfect place to relax, refresh, and enjoy the beauty that Uganda has to offer. Situated right on the Nile River, the house features a beautiful & relaxing space within a secure compound. We are a short drive into Jinja town and a short boat ride to go kayak or stand up paddle board the Nile. Set in a fenced compound shared with Harry’s Cabin, it’s peaceful and surrounded by trees and birdsong. About 25 min from Jinja, Harry’s Retreat is rural, off-grid home best suited for guests seeking calm and nature - not nightlife or late nights in town. The final 2 km are on a rocky dirt track, so please plan to arrive before dark.
