It is a 5-minutes to the Ōtaki township, where the Te Wananga O Raukawa campus, and the Golf Course are. The township also contains a library, supermarkets and takeaway shops. The beach and Otaki Forks is just a 10-minute drive.

A house for all seasons, enjoy leisurely beach walks, sun, surf and sand in the Summer, or cosy up by the fire in Winter and take in the snow on the beautiful Tararuas.

Te Kohanga Eco Lodge

Relax and enjoy sunny Plimmerton, the tranquility of the bush and the comfort of this new eco house. Te Kohanga Eco Lodge was built in 2019 and is only minutes' walk from the beach at Karehana Bay in Plimmerton, a popular beach destination with its own cafe culture. In the winter, the eco lodge is heated using infrared heating panels on the ceiling. The heating is pre-set for your comfort and will provide you with the same kind of warmth that you would expect in a European house in the winter.

Luxury at the Beach

A modern two story home only 200 meters walk to the beach. Two large living areas are on the entry level along with a generous kitchen equipped with all you need to prepare dinner including a well stocked pantry which you can use. There is a small bathroom on this level. All the bedrooms plus a large bathroom are downstairs - the master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. All bed linen and towels are supplied. Just 15 minutes walk down the beach to the cafe's and bars plus a mini supermarket.

Located within a couple of minutes walk from beach, has 3 restaurant/bars all with indoor and outdoor seating, a 4 square, dairy and fish & chip shop, organic chocolate shop are also within 0.5km from the house. two major supermarkets are 4 km away. There are lovely walks up the river and around the lakes. train station is approx 4km giving access to wellington city.
