Walmer Green is the hub for summer events including the famous Deal Carnival in July and weekly Sunday concerts at the bandstand. A 15-minute level stroll along the seafront promenade leads to Deal town. Buses into Deal, Sandwich, Canterbury, Dover and beyond stop a few metres from the cottage. Deal's award winning High Street and train station are also only a 15 minute stroll away. With pubs, cafés, and local shops selling basic provisions on the doorstep. Walmer Green is a few paces away from the apartment and throughout the summer provides the backdrop for weekly events such as the annual antiques brocante, funfair, vintage car and motorbike displays, food market.

Enjoy a peaceful and comfortable stay. This is a self-contained, private annexe to our family home with its own separate entrance and parking space. You have plenty of room for two people with double bedroom, en-suite shower room, and kitchen/lounge with patio. Located close to the main Deal to Dover road, it is still quiet and green, but just 12 minutes' drive to Dover port, the A2 and A20. A short walk takes you to the beach, the cliffs, Walmer Castle, local shops or the train station.

The Cottage is a 6 min drive from the beach or a lovely 20 min walk taking in the woods along the way. St Margaret’s at Cliffe is a 10 min drive and has a lovely secluded beach with a cabin selling teas coffee bacon rolls and ice cream 🍨 and a lovely pub The Coastguard . Deal town is about 10 mins drive away and has a wealth of shops and restaurants. Great market on Saturdays

My cottage was built in the 1800's and is small but perfectly formed. Newly refurbished it's in a convenient location close to the beach, shops, bars/restaurants, train station and conservation area. It's location makes it the perfect gateway to either London or Europe. Please note to keep my prices low, the price quoted is for couples sharing the main bedroom. If the spare bedroom is required to be made up, it is an extra £20 per night (with 10% discount if longer than one week).

You could even bus it to Dover and hop a Ferry to France!

Pets are very welcome by arrangement. The garden is sunny and has outside seating to make the best of warm evenings.

Located 5 minutes walk away from the White Cliffs of Dover, the granary is a converted timber frame building set in the garden of a 16th century Kentish farmhouse and 1 km away from the beautiful seaside village of St Margaret's-at-Cliffe. Featuring exposed beams, wattle and daub walls and many original features including staddlestones and a handcrafted spiral staircase leading to a mezzanine sleeping area, the granary has a lovely feel and is very light, warm and cosy.

Brewers - a country cottage by the sea

Brewers, so called as it was originally built in the 19th century for brewery workers at the former Thompson Brewery, is a pretty cottage with fabulous walled garden situated at the end of a peaceful lane in the heart of the Upper Walmer conservation area. The excellent facilities of Upper Walmer are just a 2 minute walk away and Walmer/Deal beach a 20 minute walk making it the perfect base for a coastal getaway.
