We had an amazing stay! The house was cozy, spotless, and perfectly set up for a relaxing getaway. The hot tub was a real highlight — soaking while taking in the breathtaking mountain views was unforgettable. Everything was just as described (if not better), and the host was super responsive and welcoming. Highly recommend if you’re looking for peace, comfort, and stunning scenery. We can’t wait to come back!

An absolutely beautiful little slice of paradise hidden away in the mountains! Well equipped kitchen, luxe linens, and the outdoor tub was just incredible after a long day’s drive! We only wished we had more time here!! Incredible stay!

Stayed at The Huts, hut 6 specifically which had an AMAZING view of the lake and mountains. So beautiful it felt like it was a living picture frame. Having the tub to soak in underneath the milky way after a long day of hiking was just magic. Even with Tekapo springs within walking distance (which was great), it tends to get busy so it was perfect to also have the option of a quiet and relaxing soak all to ourselves. Great amenities and superb location. Just the right size for 2. Easy and friendly check in/out. Hope to be back soon!

We were looking for somewhere isolated, unique and memorable and this place delivered in droves. We wanted an escape and we found an oasis. The views to the mountains changes hour by hour as you sit atop the the highest point for miles around. The property had everything we needed and then some - but it was the outdoors spa that won us over. To sit outside in the warmth of the spa under a blanket of stars was truly remarkable - even better to have that solely to ourselves made it even more special. If you have Mariua Mountain Retreat on your wish list, book it now. If you don't, add it now - you won't regret it. NB: for the faint of heart who might feel daunted by the road up to the house - just follow David's instructions and you'll be fine. We drove a little Toyota Corolla and it made it up with no issues. It's a little bumpy in places, but take your time and you'll be up in no time.

Wonderful place to stop while driving up the coast. The place was clean and extremely well-appointed and the hot tub was a lovely way to relax after some hiking. Would be a lovely place to stay longer and explore the area.

This lovely spot was far more of an experience than it was accommodation!! The area is breathtaking, and the care and thought that has been put into creating this space is amazing!! we loved our stay, and the only negative is that we were not there for longer!! We will definitely be looking to stay again!!

Tony’s place was perfect for us and our dog, except when our dog locked us out and Tony kindly came to the rescue. Lovely place to stay for anybody visiting beautiful Ohoka and its surrounds.

Stunning quiet location, very warm and cozy, great shower pressure and absolutely loved the pool table! Didn’t miss having a tv at all - lovely to be off-grid for a change. Huge deck which is all covered and would’ve been great if it was raining! But we had beautiful weather so also had no issues with solar power. Felt very lucky to be able to have our dogs with us. They had the best time too. Thanks so much, we had a great couple of nights.

A wonderful place to stay and an even more wonderful host. Kerry went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. I truly enjoyed my stay! The cabin is beautiful, the location peaceful, and it's surrounded by nature. I would absolutely recommend staying here!

Thanks for sharing your wee spot with us. Super peaceful. Loved the outdoor bath and logburner. The beds were very comfy too and warm duvets snd blankets! Lincoln and Leeston very close for a coffee or dinner. Drove to Taumutu.....wild and wonderful beach for walking. Amazing colours.

Where to start! Michelle & Grants place was absolutely amazing - The hangar itself has everything you could need a beautiful deck for the sunshine and a log burner for the colder evenings, not to mention they allow dogs which is so amazing and really makes for a great wee getaway for the whole family. Grant also took off in his plane which was so cool to see close up and was so helpful and friendly when we had any questions. We will definitely be back and cannot rate this place highly enough!

James was a great host, very helpful and even gave us an upgrade. The setting was great and next to an incredible beach. Bostin!

What a lovely off grid stay! Cost cabin in such an amazing remote location. Was great to shut off and read, sew and nap!

We had such a beautiful stay here and really enjoyed everything about it. Feeling disconnected from the world and in our own little private slice of paradise, plus the private sauna, the comfort and lovely attention to details... everything was great :) . We will definitely return.

This place was ideal for my writing retreat. It had everything I needed and was very comfortable. Having a writing desk and a proper computer chair was a real bonus and meant I could get on with my work and not end up with back ache. Lovely barn eggs and milk left for me too. I already am thinking about when I can come again! Thank you so much for everything!

Ruataniwha Hut is such a beautiful spot! Coming from a country area in aus ourselves, we have a special appreciation for the beauty and the peacefulness of this place 😊 The hut was so cosy, had everything we needed and made for a perfect stay whilst travelling around the area. Huge credit to Andrew who has put in so much effort to make this place special!

A beautifully rustic cabin close to popular walking tracks. We arrived after dark, and it was difficult to find the cabin despite directions. Having to make up the beds on arrival and strip them on departure was unexpected. Jessie was a responsive host and I would recommend her delightful cabin.

Peaceful little shack in a quiet neighborhood. Perfect for our week stay in Christchurch. Lesley was very helpful and always responsive. Would definitely stay again.
