The Colyer Mercantile

Established in 1857, the Colyer Mercantile is an absolute gem. The house was originally built by William Colyer and it's in his honor that Colyer Lake was named. The 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house has been completely renovated from the inside out. The historic charm of the house has not been lost, but instead, it has become it's most prized highlight. From the push button light switches, to the original door knobs you'll feel like you've gone back in time without losing any modern amenities.

We are located in the beautiful big valley in Amish country. The valley includes tourist stores, produce stands and baked goods, and quilts. We are only 35 minutes from Penn State, Lake Raystown is only 45 minutes, Mifflin Co. airport is 5 min, 3.5 miles from 322. Enjoy relaxing and drinking coffee on the porch while watching the deer and beautiful country scenery. Guests are welcome to give the deer treats. Private outdoor fire pit. The patio and firepit are relaxing spaces for you and your guests to enjoy!
